How is it different from running OpenClaw myself?

When you self-host OpenClaw, you're responsible for setting up servers, configuring Node.js, managing API keys, and keeping everything running, while trying to keep it secure. With Abacus Claw, all of that is handled for you. You get instant deployment, preloaded credits for AI model usage, secure 24/7 hosting, and managed infrastructure – no technical setup required. It's the no-hassle way to get a production-ready AI agent up and running in seconds.

How do I deploy my agent?

Just sign up and follow the guided setup flow. You'll pick your messaging platforms, customize your agent's personality, and you're live. The entire process takes under a minute. Your agent runs on secure, always-on infrastructure, so there's nothing to install, maintain, or monitor on your end.

Which messaging platforms does Abacus Claw support?

Abacus Claw connects to WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, and more. During setup, you'll authorize the platforms you want, and your agent becomes available on all of them simultaneously, responding to messages around the clock, even while you sleep.

Can I customize my agent's personality and behavior?

Absolutely. You can define your agent's name, tone, persona, and response style. Want a professional assistant? A witty sidekick? A customer-support specialist? You set the vibe, and your agent stays in character across every conversation.

Does my agent remember past conversations?

Yes. Abacus Claw includes persistent memory, so your agent recalls previous interactions and context over time. This makes conversations feel natural and continuous rather than starting from scratch every message. Memory is stored securely and associated only with your account.

How do you handle my data and privacy?

Your conversations and agent configurations are encrypted and stored on secure, managed infrastructure. We don't sell or share your data. You remain in control – data is tied to your account and can be deleted upon request. Because we manage the infrastructure, you also benefit from regular security updates without lifting a finger.

How does billing work, and what are "credits"?

Abacus Claw is available for users on the Abacus.AI Pro tier. The Pro plan costs about $20 per user per month and includes 25,000 monthly credits, unrestricted access to Abacus.AI Deep Agent along with ChatLLM Teams, Abacus.AI Listener, Abacus.AI CLI Agent and VS Code Extension.

Abacus Claw itself runs on a pay-as-you-go credit system using an on-demand cloud computer. While your Claw computer is active, hosting costs 1 credit per 5 minutes. You can turn it on or off anytime, and credits are only deducted while it's running—so you only pay for the time you actually use.

AI model usage is billed separately from hosting. Whenever your agent makes LLM calls, those costs are deducted from your credits as usual. Your Pro subscription already includes preloaded monthly credits, so you can start using your agent immediately without setting up separate billing.

If you prefer, you can also bring your own API key for model usage instead of using credits. And if you need more capacity, you can purchase additional credits anytime from your dashboard.

What if something goes wrong or I need help?

If something goes wrong or you need help, don't worry – there are several ways to get things back on track. Start by checking the status dashboard for any service notices if your agent isn't responding as expected. You can also ask your agent directly for help, since it has access to the OpenClaw documentation and can guide you through features, configuration questions, or troubleshooting steps in real time.

If things still aren't working as expected, you can try a quick reset of the computer to clear temporary glitches and restore normal operation.

Can I use my own API keys or switch AI models?

Yes, you can use your own API keys. Abacus Claw charges separately for hosting (running the Claw server) and AI model usage. If you'd prefer not to use your credits for model calls, you can simply provide your own API key.

To use it, just mention your API key in the chat, and Abacus Claw will start using that key for future LLM calls – no extra setup or configuration required.
