What is the difference between Abacus Claw and Abacus Hermes?

Abacus Claw is a cloud-hosted version of OpenClaw, the open-source AI agent framework. It's designed to be your always-on personal assistant across messaging platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Slack. You customize its personality and behavior, and it responds to messages and performs tasks around the clock.

Abacus Hermes is a self-evolving autonomous agent built for complex, multi-step task execution. It learns from experience, builds persistent memory, and generates reusable skills over time. Hermes is the right choice when you need an agent that can handle sophisticated workflows that go beyond simple question-and-answer interactions.

Which Personal AI Agent should I use?

Use Abacus Claw if you want a personal assistant that's always available on your favorite messaging apps. It's great for answering questions, providing information, and handling routine interactions across WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, and more.

Use Abacus Hermes if you need an agent that can autonomously execute complex, multi-step tasks. Hermes excels at workflows that require planning, memory across sessions, and the ability to generate and reuse skills as it learns.

How do I get started?

Sign up for an Abacus.AI Pro account and navigate to the Personal AI Agents section. From there, you can deploy either Claw or Hermes through a guided setup flow. No technical knowledge or infrastructure setup is required — everything runs on Abacus.AI's managed infrastructure and is ready within seconds.

What does it cost?

Personal AI Agents are available on the Abacus.AI Pro tier, which costs about $20 per user per month. The Pro plan includes 30,000 monthly credits and unrestricted access to Personal AI Agents along with ChatLLM Teams, Abacus.AI Agent, Listener, CLI Agent, and VS Code Extension.

Both Claw and Hermes use a credit-based system for compute and AI model usage. Credits are only consumed while your agent is active, so you only pay for actual usage. You can also bring your own API key for model calls if you prefer.

Are my conversations and data secure?

Yes. All conversations, agent configurations, and data are encrypted and stored on secure, managed infrastructure. Abacus.AI does not sell or share your data. Your data is tied to your account and can be deleted upon request. Because Abacus.AI manages the infrastructure, you also benefit from regular security updates automatically.

Can I run both Claw and Hermes at the same time?

Yes, you can run both agents simultaneously under a single Pro account. Each agent maintains its own context, memory, and configuration independently.
